About Kalasalingam Academy

Established in 1984 by the visionary philanthropist Thiru. T. Kalasalingam, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) has grown from a modest engineering college to a comprehensive Deemed-to-be-University, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC.

Nestled in the serene foothills of the Western Ghats in Krishnankoil, Tamil Nadu, our 180-acre campus provides an ideal environment for academic pursuit and personal growth. We combine traditional values with innovative teaching methodologies to prepare students for global challenges.

Center for Advanced Materials Research

Focusing on nanotechnology, sustainable materials, and biomaterials with 35+ ongoing projects funded by DST, DRDO, and international agencies. Recent breakthrough in perovskite solar cells achieved 24.5% efficiency.

Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Lab

Developing AI solutions for healthcare, agriculture, and smart cities. Partnership with IBM, Microsoft, and Google Cloud. Published 85+ papers in top-tier conferences in 2023.

Renewable Energy Systems

Research on solar, wind, and hybrid energy systems with pilot projects implemented in 12 rural Tamil Nadu villages. Received ₹4.2 crores funding from MNRE in 2023.
